I thought I would share a couple more pages with you from my sketch book today, so I hope you enjoy them.
I am excited about this week ahead, I think its going to be a good one. The weather is forecast to be really good here all week and that always makes things better.

I have been working on quite a few photo-videos lately so as soon as I get cleared I will post them on here.

Sunny day Office

England vs USA

Seeing as England are playing their opening game of the 2010 World Cup against the USA later today, i thought that i would share some image that i shot in New York. Three are shot with a Fisheye in Time Square and the other two are shot with a 1950's Halina on Fuji Reala 100. I love the contrast between modern digital images and old school film cameras. Two different looks and two very different methods of capturing images. 

Shooting with old cameras, i generally carry a light meter with me and the whole process of taking a shot is more considered and slow. Each shot is seen with my eye then captured on film forever. The digital age has brought huge benefits to photography but it has also led to the 'shoot everything and hope one is ok' attitude. I don't like this. Good discipline is essential to great images.

So... My prediction for the game tonight is 3 : 1 to England.

Shooting products

So today I had my make-shift studio setup outside. The setup consisted of simply a main and a fill. The main was a soft box delivering a direct and controllable light and the fill was an umbrella supplying a diffused light to fill in shadows.

I was shooting outside with an overcast sky. Aperture set to f16 and the shutter at 1/250s, this allowed me to cut out the majority of the natural light and control the flash units to give the desired effect.

I will upload a couple of the shots in the next few days when I've had a chance to edit them.

Heading up to Manchester for the week to catch up with family and friends. It will be nice to work in a different environment for a change.

I keep a sketch book of everything that inspires me. These two pages capture expression and motivate me to work hard and develop a relationship with my subject that (although brief sometimes) breaks down the facade and reveals the true character and personality.

This is an art. Which one day I hope to master! :-)

Haiti 2010

This is a test Blog update. These are some of my best images from
Haiti. What an amazing opportunity to go to a Nation like Haiti,
especially when it is in such an important place in its History. The
Nation is facing a re building that could take tens of years and from
my perspective, what they need is emotional and spiritual re building.
There is no hope at the moment. But, there is Hope in Jesus.
