Looking back....

I haven't posted anything for a while, and i am getting ready for a quick trip to Costa Rica next week. I have been looking back on some of my images from trips over the last few years and wanted to share some of my more memorable images.

God is good, and i believe that he can work good out of even the worst situations. I feel heavy hearted for the people i see around the World who are in such difficult situations, but i also feel anger towards the selfish people who create the hardship for there own gain.

In Haiti around the time of the earthquake the Haitian government were given A LOT of aid. Instead of just distributing it asap, they started to sell it to the people. Selfishness!

Ishmael is a victim of the rebels in Sierra Leone who wanted to overthrow the government by attacking their people.

The sweet little girl lives on Bushrod Island, Nr Monrovia. She is a victim of the 14 year civil war that tore that nation apart because of selfishness and greed. Those army commanders never saw past their own agenda. Their short sightedness didn't leave room for a long term plan for their nation.

Rev Clarkson saw the most horrendous acts of violence right in front of her eyes during the long civil war. She could have let this generate anger and bitterness in her heart, but instead she let the love of God transform her into a new person. God healed her broken heart, and intern has helped her to reach out to other broken and hurt people.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2

And we know that God causes everything to work togethert for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

Haiti 2010 - Yet another test for an already beaten up nation.

Sierra Leone 2009 - Ishmael had his hands hacked off by rebels who wanted to take over the diamond mines.

Liberia 2010 - Ben Cerullo Ministries paid for two wells to be placed in this girls neighbourhood.

Sierra Leone 2009 - Reverend Clarkson reflects after an 11 year civil war tore her country apart.
The answer to all the heartache in the World is Jesus. I know that may sound like a cliché nowadays, but it's true. Only through knowing Him can we really know what true love is, and only when we experience true love can we act in love and reach out to the people around us. If you want to help change Your World, then get to know God, and then start to act.

If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;t but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.  It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13 : 3-7

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love
1 Corinthians 13:13
